If the exam is “paper and pencil” and not able to be loaded online, Face-to-Face Proctoring (the use of another college testing center) is the only other option to using the Collin College testing centers.
Face-to-Face Proctoring (Remote Testing Centers)
If taking an exam at Collin College’s onsite testing centers creates a geographical hardship or other extenuating circumstances, the student is instructed to contact his or her instructor as a first step. While it is recommended to use the online proctor option, ProctorU, it may be possible to have the exam administered through an approved remote testing center outside of the geographic area during the required exam period. The use of a remote testing center is dependent on the instructor’s approval.
It is the student’s responsibility to find an approved testing service that is willing to proctor the exam. Generally, other community colleges or universities are a good place to start. Suggested resource: National College Testing Association
It is the instructor’s responsibility to approve the testing center choice as well to provide all communication and direction to the testing center staff.
Test proctors must be an employee affiliated with the school’s assessment/testing office or program or authorized to administer exams on behalf of the appropriate institution – a full or part time instructor at that institution. Exam proctors must not have any family or personal relationship with the students.
The student is responsible for scheduling time to take exam at remote test site as well as checking with the remote testing site to ensure the exam has arrived prior to exam date. The student is responsible for any fees charged by the remote site.
