		Course Development Resources A Course Framework is available through Canvas Commons.This can be added to any course from Canvas Commons. Watch this video to see how you can add the Canvas Course Framework to your District course shell. Using this framework meets 10 of the required standards of the Online Course Checklist. OAB Self-Review Directions - All faculty are encouraged to complete a self-review of their course(s) using the OAB rubric in the Custom Review area of the Quality Matters online portal. The information you gather in the self-review is very useful to include in the Course Worksheet. Access the Quality Matters site to start a self-review, Course Representative submission of the Course Worksheet, and to attend QM free webinars. If an individual registers for a fee-based workshop through the Quality Matters site, they will be responsible for the cost of that workshop. Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) and other QM workshops are at no charge to the individual or department only if registered through the eLC. 		Adopting an Approved District Course The eLC, your District Discipline Lead, and District Discipline Dean have access to District Course and are able to provide you with an exported copy of an OAB District Course. Check to see if there is an OAB approved District Course If Template Admin is listed under the Course Owner column, the eLC has an OAB approved District Course and can export a copy for faculty to import into a Canvas shell. 		Required Faculty Orientation Teaching with Canvas at Collin College provides faculty the tools and practical suggestions to be ready to teach at Collin College. It is a self-paced and fully online course that takes approximately 10 hours to complete. You can review the course objectives on the Teaching Online Certification page. Check to see if you have already completed this: Teaching with Canvas Search In the search you only need to enter your first and last name. You don't need to enter a supervisor. The supervisor listed is the supervisor at the time of completion. If there are any issues with using this database, contact elc@collin.edu so that an eLC staff member can assist.
		Quality Matters Workshops In additional to completing the required Teaching with Canvas certification, instructors who teach a fully online course or submit a course to OAB are expected to complete Quality Matter's Applying the QM Rubric (APPQMR) workshop or Improving Your Online Course (IYOC). The eLC offers monthly Quality Matters workshops that are free to faculty and staff. You must register using the eLC Professional Development page in order for course fees to be covered by the eLC. Participants can attend an in-person (via Zoom) workshop or online (via Canvas). Not sure if you have attended a Quality Matters workshop? You can use the search form to see which workshops you have completed. You can also obtain a copy of any certificates earned directly from QM. OAB Nomination Form Nominations will be reviewed by the OAB Chairs and new members added based on subject matter expert needs.
		Meet with an Instructional Designer Appointments with the eLC - We recommend you make an appointment with an Instructional Designer before completing the OAB review. Please call or email the eLC to request an appointment.
