Outstanding Professor
Congratulations to the 2023 Outstanding Professor
Kimberly Gentry
Professor of Medical Assisting Advanced Practice, Wylie
The purpose of the Collin College Outstanding Professor Award is to recognize faculty
members for exemplary teaching and outstanding service to the college, community,
and profession. It serves the further purpose of selecting an outstanding faculty
member to represent the college at the state level for the Minnie Stevens Piper Professor
Award.
The Collin College Outstanding Professor Award is intended for exceptional faculty members in recognition of their teaching effectiveness and creativity in the classroom, their positive impact on students, their subject mastery and scholarship, and their service to the college and their community.
Professor Emeritus
The Professor Emeritus Program recognizes retired or retiring professors who have served Collin College with high distinction and exceptional contributions over a period of time. Emeritus Professors benefit Collin College by being available for college service, serving as ambassadors for the college within the community, mentoring new faculty members, participating in college activities and ceremonies, or helping and inspiring students. Emeritus Professors benefit from this program by retaining an ID with access to college facilities, continued use of a Collin email account for work purposes, access to shared office space and basic administrative support when teaching, opportunities to teach part-time, and having priority consideration to teach available courses after full-time faculty load is assigned, when feasible.
