Collin College Marketable Skills Process

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) 60X30 Marketable Skills goal requires institutions to formally identify soft and technical marketable skills for each of its degree programs so that students are aware of and can communicate these skills to future employers. In fall 2020, institutions implemented a process to identify and regularly update marketable skills for each of their degree programs.

Marketable skills include interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skill areas, are valued by employers, and are primary or complementary to a major. Marketable skills are often called employability skills. They include both technical and soft skills.

Every degree program at Collin College is required to identify at least 5 to 7 marketable skills; these inlcude both technical and soft skills.
