Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs

Welcome!

Below you will find access to six important resources including:

1. The Collin College Faculty Credentialing Manual - used by Associate Deans/Directors, Deans and Campus Provosts to credential all full-time and adjunct faculty to teach any course offered by Collin College.

2. Course Substitution Guidelines - used by Associate Deans/Directors, Deans, faculty, and select staff members to help provide guidance for choosing whether to undertake course substitutions that may arise when assisting students to develop their academic plan at Collin College.  Many of these issues are addressed by the Office of the Registrar, but there are a number of times when decisions will need to be considered by content experts for academic programs.  This document, while not exhaustive, should be helpful in making many of these decisions, but if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the office of the VPAA for clarification.

3. Assessment Resources - A webpage that outlines some of the foundational concepts for defining program-level goals and program-level student learning outcomes for an academic program.  This page is still a bit under construction, but it is already a useful resource for faculty and staff members wanting assistance with creating or honing their program-level outcomes.

4. HB 2504 Syllabus and CV Requirements - This page explains the requirements of Syllabi and CV's posted for public information in order for Collin College to be compliant with HB 2504.

5. Collin College Substantive Change Procedures - This document describes key procedures that all Collin College Academic and Student Services Administrators should be strongly aware of to help the college maintain compliance with the SACSCOC substantive change policy.

6. SACSCOC-approved Off-Campus Instructional Sites - Below you will find lists of the off-campus instructional sites where Collin College has been approved by SACSCOC:

a) to offer 25-49% of a certificate or degree or

b) to offer 50% or more of a certificate or degree

Before offering courses at any site other than your own Collin College campus, please check here to make sure that you are not offering more of any Collin College certificate or degree than we have been approved to offer at that site by SACSCOC.  If you are planning to offer courses at a site that does not appear on these lists, please contact the office of the VPAA for more information.
