Staff Recognition Program

The Staff Recognition Program recognizes excellence and extraordinary effort demonstrated by Collin College full-time and part-time staff who exemplify Collin’s Core Values of Learning, Service and Involvement, Creativity and Innovation, Academic Excellence, Dignity and Respect, and Integrity.


 Recognition of Service and Excellence (ROSE) Award


The Staff Recognition Program will consist of one award category to recognize one full-time and part-time staff each year.

Award Criteria:

The recipients of the Recognition of Service and Excellence (ROSE) Award will be one full-time and part-time staff member who has provided exemplary service to the college community in the past year.

Individuals nominated should exhibit three or more of the following:

*Demonstrates outstanding capability in the position held and performs duties in a manner which exemplifies the college’s core values.

*Demonstrates outstanding service, directly or indirectly, to Collin College students, visitors, colleagues or faculty members, along with an overall excellent attitude toward the college as a whole.

*Contributes to the spirit of community at Collin College by working with others to provide high quality results related to common goals (department and/or college).

*Effectively communicates and promotes mutual understanding and trust, thus earning the respect of others and inspiring them to do their best.

*Contributes to the efficiency and cost effectiveness of a department or the college as a whole by presenting and implementing innovative and creative methods to enhance existing programs and processes, or creates new processes that add value to the institution while continuing to reduce costs.

*Volunteers for and works on special projects outside the college and/or serves on a department or college wide committee and contributes to its success.

*Continues to develop skills and pursue educational avenues to add value to the department, field of expertise, and the college community.

Student Employee of the Year Award Award


The Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Award will recognize one Collin College student employee each year.

Award Criteria:

Nominations will be judged on the following characteristics: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and the uniqueness of the student’s contribution to the employer.

* Attributes – Provide an example that demonstrates the nominees’ greatest attributes and how these attributes enhance their contributions to the position.

* Expectations – Provide an example of how the nominee goes above and beyond the expectations listed in their job description.

* Leadership/Style – Leadership - Provide an example of how the nominee’s leadership skills, initiative or style helped to improve how your office functions. Style – Describe the quality of the nominee’s work style and how their style of work is well suited for your department.

* Impact – Provide an example of the positive impact the nominee has had to your department,campus or community.

In order to be eligible for consideration, student employees must have worked a minimum of 6 months part-time during the selection period.

Nominees are not restricted to students employed through the Federal Work-Study Program. All student employees are eligible for consideration.

NOMINATION GUIDELINES
Who can nominate?

Nominations may be submitted by any full- or part-time staff or faculty member. Employees may nominate themselves.

Who can be nominated?

Any full- or part-time staff member who has completed at least two years of service with Collin College, by the application date, and has not experienced any disciplinary actions in the last three years.

(NOTE: Current Staff Council members are not eligible for nomination.)

NOMINATION FORM

The nomination form will be available in Spring and publicized district wide. All nomination forms will be kept confidential.

Multiple nominations for a single candidate will be accepted, but nominations must be submitted by an individual. No group or departmental nominations will be accepted.

Nominations must consist of a description of the project, process, item or activity supported by relevant materials.

RECOGNITION ANNOUNCEMENTS/PRESENTATIONS

Award recipients will be recognized at the All College Day in August.

Once a staff member is recognized with the ROSE Award, he/she is ineligible to be nominated for three years.
