Comments:

The institution indicated in its narrative that it provides a sufficient number of qualified staff to accomplish the mission of the institution. Thorough supporting documentation included the Library Staff Summary, Peer Institution Comparison Chart, Organizational Charts, and Position. The institution should provide transcripts and other appropriate documentation of library and learning information resources staff.

Response:

The Executive Directors of the three campus libraries conducted a review of the transcripts and credentials of the professional librarians to ensure relevant credentials and coursework were documented. All staff members with the title Librarian hold Master of Library Science degrees (Reference 1). Official transcripts, applications, and resumes will be available for review by the On-Site Review Committee (Reference 2).

Professional librarians are supported by paraprofessional and clerical staff sufficient to deliver the array of library services 74 hours per week at each of the three District libraries. The Executive Directors monitor the sufficiency of personnel based on (1) annual surveys of student and faculty satisfaction with library services and (2) the absence of backlogs in shelving and technical processing operations.

Professional librarians are supported by the following staff:
