Comments:
The institution’s policies regarding the ownership of materials,
compensation, copyright and the use of revenue derived from
the creation and production of intellectual property does
not include students. The institution has acknowledged this
deficiency and has an action plan to bring the institution
into compliance.
Response:
The Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) Board
of Trustees policies regarding intellectual property clearly
define ownership, licensing/copyright issues, and compensation/use
of revenue resulting from the creation and production of
intellectual property by College employees. However, in
the preparation of the District’s response for this comprehensive
standard, it was determined that the CCCCD Board of Trustees
policies regarding intellectual property were not inclusive
of students and that no other District policy existed that
provided guidance regarding intellectual property created
by students. An Action Plan was prepared to correct this
omission.
