Allison Boye

 Dr. Allison Boye, Director




Dr. Boye has over 13 years of professional experience in the fields of teaching and learning and faculty development. She comes to Collin College by way of Texas Tech University, where she served as Associate Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center, and as Associate Director of Professional Development for the Graduate School. She holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech, a Master of Arts from Bowling Green University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees from The College of William and Mary, where she earned membership in the Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD) and the Texas Faculty Development Network, and she currently serves as Associate Editor for IDEA Center Staff Papers, and as a consulting editor for College Teaching. She has published both scholarly and creative pieces, and her work has appeared in publications such as To Improve the AcademyThe Journal on Centers for Teaching and LearningIDEA Papers, and The Scholarly Teacher. She is also co-editor of the book Transparent Design in Higher Education Teaching and Leadership (Stylus, 2019). Her areas of interest include syllabi, assignment, and rubric design; peer observations; generational research; and burnout and self-care for academics and other professionals. When she’s not working, Allison enjoys writing, singing, working with watercolor and other art media, and hanging out with her husband David and their spoiled cat Eliot.

Janice Kranz

Janice Kranz,
Administrative Assistant

Janice comes to the Center for Teaching and Learning from our Frisco Campus, where she served as the Administrative Assistant for CSCE and the Honors Institute. Prior to her employment at Collin College, she was employed by Southern Methodist University for 27 years. Janice is a wife, mother, grandmother, and dog mom that proudly supports our military and law enforcement. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cruising, and taking occasional trips to the nearby casinos.
