VAX Access         Long Distance Access Codes

In order to receive network access and a password, a LAN (local area network) Security Agreement and a LAN Account Application must be completed and returned to Academic Computing Services (ACS).

VAX Access

The VAX is the mainframe for the District and includes the District's Student Information System (SIS), Financial Resource System (FRS), and the Human Resource System (HRS).

Employees who need access to the VAX must complete a VAX Access Request Form.

If SIS access is required, the Request for Password to Access SIS form must also be completed.

The system administrator for each system must sign the VAX Access Request form.  The Registrar or his/her representative must approve SIS access, the Director of Accounting must approve FRS access and BR screen access in SIS, and the Director of Human Resources and the Payroll Manager must approve HRS access.

After receiving all approvals, the form(s) should be sent to the Operating Systems Department at CPC.

Long Distance Codes

In order to make long distance calls from District phones, a long distance code is required.  Each employee should have his/her own long distance code and should only use for business related calls.  If personal long distance calls are made, the cost must be reimbursed to the District.  Contact the Telecommunications Department at x6652 for long distance codes or information.
