College Mission

Collin County Community College is a student and community centered institution committed to developing skills, strengthening character, and challenging the intellect.

Philosophy and Purpose

Through its campuses, centers and programs Collin County Community College District fulfills its statutory charge to provide:

·         Academic courses in the arts and sciences to transfer to senior institutions.

·         Technical programs, leading to associate degrees or certificates, designed to develop marketable skills and  promote economic development.

·         Continuing adult education programs for academic, professional, occupational and cultural enhancement.

·         Developmental education and literacy programs designed to improve the basic skills of students.

·         A program of student development services and learning resources designed to assist individuals in achieving their educational and career goals.

·         Workforce, economic, and community development initiatives designed to meet local and statewide needs.

·         Other purposes as may be directed by the CCCCD Board of Trustees and/or the laws of the State of Texas.

Process for Revising “Procedures and Guidelines for Faculty and Staff” and CCCCD Board of Trustees Local Policies

Suggestions and requests for additions, changes and deletions to the “Procedures and Guidelines for Faculty and Staff” should be forwarded in writing to the Human Resources Office at Courtyard Center.  Suggestions and requests will be reviewed annually in the Spring semester.  A written response will be provided to the requestor following a formal review of the suggestion/request by the appropriate administrator(s).

Recommended changes to CCCCD Board of Trustees Local Policies are reviewed by the All College Council and, for issues affecting teaching faculty, the Faculty Senate, before being submitted by the president to the Board of Trustees for final review/consideration.  Policy changes are effective immediately following approval by the Board of Trustees, unless otherwise specified by the Board as documented in the Board minutes.  Following action by the Board of Trustees, approved changes will be distributed to full-time employees and other employees affected by the change by the Human Resources Office.

College Calendars

The official college “Master Calendar” is approved annually by the Board of Trustees and published in the schedule of classes and the college catalog.  Updates of the “Master Calendar” are published by the Calendar Committee and distributed to all college offices.

The annual staff and faculty work calendars are published by the Human Resources Office and are available on the Human Resources web site.
