FUNCTION: Senior administrator responsible for operating the District within guidelines established by the Board of Trustees and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job
Functions:
Serve as
investment officer designee of the Board of Trustees.
Develop the
district’s master plan for operations.
Submit the
district’s annual budget recommendations to the Board of
Trustees.
Approve
district-wide Strategic Plans in support of the district’s mission
statement.
Provide
effective leadership in development and growth of the district, ensuring
criteria required for continued regional accreditation are
maintained.
Approve
curriculum development, except where such programs must be submitted to the
Board of Trustees and/or Coordinating Board for final approval, and services
which support the district’s commitment to institutional
effectiveness.
Direct, review
and approve internal and external proposals, grants, and contracts submitted
identifying sources of funds to enhance the district’s academic and service
programs.
Approve and
submit accurate and complete records required by the Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board.
Recruit,
orient, and supervise a culturally diverse staff.
Foster an
environment within the district that values a diversity of ideas and
people.
Nominate to
the Board of Trustees for appointment, promotion or dismissal, all personnel of
the district and approve employment contracts for eligible full-time
personnel.
Implement
district policies and issue administrative procedures for effective
administration of the District.
Recommend operational policies to the Board of Trustees for
approval.
Direct the
development of the district’s building program.
Carry out
staff evaluations and make appropriate recommendations in accordance with
district policies and procedures.
Ensure the regular evaluation of all faculty and staff in the
district.
Encourage the
participation of full-time and part-time faculty and staff in appropriate task
forces, committees and councils, as well as in staff development
activities.
Attend state
and national conventions, meetings, and workshops to ensure the efficient
operation of the District.
Establish and
maintain an effective public relations program.
Represent
CCCCD, as required, by participating in state and local councils, committees,
boards and organizations.
Compose and
deliver oral presentations in both group and one-on-one
situations.

duties as assigned by the Board of Trustees.

Education,
Experience, Licenses and Certificates:
Education:
An earned
doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher
education
Experience:

a minimum of five years
experience as Chief Executive Officer reporting to and working directly with its
Board of Trustees
·
a distinguished record of
professional accomplishments in higher education
·
teaching experience in
higher education
·
a reputation as a leader
with a vision for the future of higher education and the community
college
·
a record of actions
reflecting concern for the success and well-being of
students
·
a proven track record in
negotiating strategic alliances
