Academic, Governance, and Strategic Planning (AGS) Council

The Academic, Governance, and Strategic Planning (AGS) Council strives to strengthen Collin College’s shared governance through greater collaboration, communication, and understanding.

Guiding Principles of the Council Organization

  • Ensure all employees have representation on shared governance councils, committees, and advisory boards;
  • Ensure unique and emerging areas have full representation;
  • Ensure opportunities for representation reflect the broad diversity of our employees and students and their opinions;
  • Create new opportunities for inter-council interaction with one another and with college administration to more effectively collaborate and gain deeper understanding; and,
  • Develop a council and committee infrastructure that is connected, has defined purposes, and clear communication pathways.

Faculty, staff, and student leadership organization representatives meet regularly with members of the District President’s Cabinet to discuss and consider college-wide strategic planning, organizational, and policy matters.
